PLACING ROOTS

Read:

Luke 8:13

Development:

Here we can appreciate how the Apostle Lucas urges us that as believers in Jesus and as listeners of the word of God, we are firm in the faith, that we do not do what many do, that in the time of trial they only move away.

Luke tells us that Jesus taught us the mysteries of the kingdom of God, he even tells us that he spoke to all of them in parables, so that seeing they might not see and hearing they might not understand,

In the verses of the book of Luke 8:9-15, Luke teaches us how the attitude of the new disciples should be, telling us that we try to ensure that the word of God takes root in our hearts, in our lives, so that it germinate from its fruit at 1 per 100.

I reflect and respond:

What happens to young disciples who do not cultivate "roots"?

Read:

Acts 2:41-47; 4:32-37

Development:

In this book we can see how the Apostle Peter teaches us that as children of God, it is our OBLIGATION to gather together and share everything we can with those in need, just as Jesus taught us, "You shall love your neighbor as yourself"

I reflect and respond:

1. What helped these young disciples to remain faithful?

2. Are you doing the same things they did (Acts 2:42)?

3. How can you deepen your relationships in the church?

Read:

1 Thessalonians 1:2-10

Development:

The Apostle Paul exhorts us to have a deep communication with God, through the prayer of faith, which we learned by hearing the word.

I reflect and respond:

1. What does it mean to have a "deep conviction"? How can you develop your conviction?

2. Who should he imitate? And how?

3. Are you becoming a "role model" for others? How are you doing?
